Precautions & Limitations
Luma Kai hCG advises you to seek advice from your primary care provider before beginning any weight-loss program. Below is important information to know before starting your new diet.
Clients cannot be pregnant, cannot be on a diuretic, and cannot have cancer. Chronic care conditions must be followed by a primary care provider. These restrictions apply to any patient locally and worldwide who wish to use the hCG diet.
According to the FDA hCG has not been demonstrated to be effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or "normal" distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets.
If hCG is used to treat pre-pubertal cryptorchidism, infertility, or as a weight-loss treatment, it is not safe to use except under the supervision of a licensed practitioner, and is thus a prescription drug as defined at 21 U.S.C. 353(b). It is legal to prescribe hCG for weight loss as an "off label" prescription.
